Expectations

"I want to see 20/20!"

You must have realistic expectations. The decision to have LASIK is a very important one that only you can make. It is important that you base your decision on facts, not hopes and misconceptions. While the results of LASIK are good, LASIK is not perfect. Like all refractive procedures, the goal of LASIK is to reduce, not necessarily eliminate your dependence upon glasses or contacts. LASIK does not always create 20/20 vision or even 20/40 vision. LASIK cannot correct presbyopia, an aging process of the eye which usually occurs around age 40 and generally requires the use of reading glasses.

While we are proud of our statistics, meeting your expectations is our most important measure of success. During your pre-operative consultation we will assess your individual condition and provide you with your statistical chance of achieving a successful outcome, based upon our patient experience.
